According to preliminary temperature readings from the German Weather Service (DWD), it was warmer than ever in Berlin on New Year’s Eve. At the measuring points in the districts of Marzahn, Tempelhof and Buch, temperatures between 17.5 and 17.9 degrees Celsius were measured on Saturday, as the DWD announced in the evening. The previous historical maximum temperatures for New Year’s Eve were reached in all three places last year and were just over 14 degrees.
