Cam Tennis will host the first wheelchair tennis fixtures, featuring singles and doubles on Saturday, June 4. From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., the courts will be hosted by a dozen players from the region. The wheelchair tennis is a special form of tennis that allows athletes with disabilities to play in adapted tournaments.
It will be a multi-chance Para tournament on Saturday, June 4. Players will play shorter matches and more rhythmic matches, giving everyone more chance. A sequence of activities will be held to raise awareness about disabilities, including the handling of wheelchairs, circulation on court, and playing with the racket.
Jerome Lespes and Patrick Deville, club officials, wish to make Cam Tennis accessible to all persons with disabilities (physical, mentally, or visual impairment). Special training will be provided to the tennis teacher during the 2022-2023 seasons. Wheelchair tennis is a challenging and beautiful discipline that the public is welcome to explore.
