The body of a man was found overnight from Friday to Saturday at the scene of a fire in a residential building in the Saint-Michel borough, in Montreal.

Around midnight, the emergency services went to the scene of the blaze, which was quickly brought under control. When they arrived at the building on Avenue de Musset, they noticed the inert man, who was pronounced dead on the spot.

“Currently, there seems to be no criminal element linked to the case,” admitted the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Caroline Chèvrefils. A perimeter was erected at the scene to allow investigators to better understand the circumstances of this event.
