Miguel Fernández Vasco, a sailor from the Náutico Coruñés, achieved sixth place overall in the Finn class Sailing World Championship, which was held in Italy, on Lake Garda and was organized by the Fraglia Vela Malcesine club.

The last day was blank and no tests were held. The absolute winner was the Dutchman Pieter Jan Postma, who achieved two first and three second places in the eight races that could be held.

In this World Championship in which 111 sailors participated, the performance of Miguel Fernández Vasco with his boat “Belita” -which was also the best classified Spanish- was remarkable. On the first day he made two seventh places. On the third day he did a third and a fourth and on Friday, a tenth and third again which took him to sixth place in the general, being also the third in the world in the Senior category.

The sailor from Coruña had prepared with great intensity for this World Cup with many tactical and technical training sessions, as well as on a physical level to reach the World Cup in perfect condition after having already won eleven Spanish Cups and four national championships in addition to several regional titles.
