The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, defended this Friday the “great services” that the monarchical institution has provided to Spain and “is doing so at the moment.”

When asked about the return of Don Juan Carlos to Spain after more than 600 days outside the country, Fernández Mañueco has defended that not only the monarchical institution, but also the King, including the emeritus, “was crucial for there to be democracy in our country » as well as for the Spanish Constitution, the text of which «we have to feel so proud».

“We must all comply with the 1978 Constitution. The King, but also the separatists,” stressed the Chairman of the Board.

“We must all comply with the Constitution, with each and every one of the articles of the Constitution”, stressed the head of the Castilian and Leonese Executive in response to the criticism launched by some independence parties for the return to Spain of the King’s father, that this Friday he had his first public appearance at the Sanxenxo yacht club, after landing on Thursday at the Vigo airport from Abu Dhabi, where he settled two years ago.

Fernández Mañueco made these statements before participating in Madrid in the conference ‘The Next Generation Funds and the Autonomous Communities’, organized by the Carlos III University, together with the president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García Page, and Luis Garicano, MEP of Citizens.
