Tragedy Strikes Bedford, Mass.: Woman Dead, Man Fighting for Life After Double Shooting
BEDFORD, Mass. — A devastating incident unfolded in Bedford, Massachusetts, leaving a woman dead and a man with life-threatening injuries following a double shooting. According to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, District Attorney Marian Ryan revealed that the authorities received a harrowing 911 call just after 9 a.m. from a resident on Washington Street. The caller reported that a woman residing in their home had confessed to shooting her parents.
Upon investigation, law enforcement officers discovered a tragic scene. Inside a vehicle parked on a neighboring lawn, they found a 56-year-old woman, a Bedford resident, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, a 56-year-old man was also located inside the vehicle, suffering from critical injuries. He was promptly transported to a local hospital for urgent medical attention.
The suspect behind this heinous act has been identified as 24-year-old Jessica Cavallaro. Following her apprehension, Cavallaro was charged with one count of murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Although Cavallaro claimed the victims were her parents, the authorities have yet to confirm their relationship.
Ryan disclosed that Cavallaro cohabitates with her significant other in a residence on Washington Street, while her parents reside elsewhere in Bedford. As the community grapples with this shocking incident, Cavallaro is set to face arraignment in Concord later today.
