Starting today, Monday, representatives from more than 170 countries will be discussing an international agreement to curb plastic waste in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. They are negotiating until Sunday about which specific measures should be included in a globally binding agreement to end plastic waste pollution. A draft text published in September will be discussed for the first time. To mark the occasion, we are publishing this text again; it first appeared in August 2023.
