A tomato-mozza sandwich with ciabatta bread and a tasty tomato basil sauce; a burger with Tomme de Rambouillet cheese and onion confit; a hot dog with fried onions and honey mustard, or fries with a tasty tartar sauce… For the past few weeks, we have been eating differently at the Stade de France. The revolution was launched by the consortium which undertook work on the refreshment bars and kitchens (1.5 million euros of investment) and above all entrusted to chef Stéphane Reynaud, owner of the bistro Oui Mon général, in Paris ( 7th), the creation of a new menu to discover on match and concert nights.

“This project to offer quality food to spectators was close to our hearts,” explains Alexandra Boutelier, general manager of the Stade de France. The conclusion was clear: what was offered before was expensive and not really good. The burger that was put in the microwave just before serving it was no longer possible. Especially since the Stade de France will be a competition site during the Olympics.
“The idea was to create recipes that can only be found at the Stade de France”
From now on, burgers, hot dogs and fries are prepared on site. The Stade de France also relies on local suppliers, all located within a radius of 100 km. The organic bread is handcrafted (the ciabatta is made from olive oil, the burger bread is brioche) by the baker Frédéric Sicart in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne), the meat comes from Grand Caractère at Plessis-Robinson, a family business specializing in cutting meat and making charcuterie since 1905… The recipes are also based on sauces (ketchup, mustard, tartare) made locally.

“The idea was to bring flavor and create recipes that can only be found at the Stade de France,” emphasizes Stéphane Reynaud. I want the spectators to have a pleasurable approach and to remember the hot dog or the chicken sandwich they tasted at the Stade de France. “We thus offer a complete experience to visitors. We now come to the Stadium to see a show and eat well, at prices that are substantially identical to those offered before, ”sums up Alexandra Boutelier. The burger is at 11 euros, the hot dog at 9.50 euros, the chicken or mozzarella sandwich at 8 euros and the portion of fries at 4 euros.
