The Leipzig transport company failed in its attempt to legally prevent the two-day warning strike in local transport at short notice. The Leipzig Labor Court rejected an interim injunction against the strike, as the company confirmed on Thursday evening. The Verdi union welcomed the verdict with relief.

With the verdict, the court recognized that the workforce was looking for better working conditions and not a political industrial dispute, said Verdi negotiator Paul Schmidt. The plans for the warning strike, which is scheduled to last until 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, remained in place.

According to LVB, several bus routes that are operated by subcontractors are exempt from the work stoppage.
