Two Endavant Occitan candidates will be in the Pyrenees – Atlantiques to contest the legislative elections on June 12th and 19.
Karine Bordenave leaves for the third constituency. She is 51 years old and was a teacher in calendreta until she converted to agriculture two year ago. She is based at Mazerolles. Patrick Mauboules, his deputy, is a retired Total employee and a Billere municipal councilor. He is also an active Sepanso member.
Patrici Cescau (48), is running for deputy in the second constituency. Jordi Holstein replaces this Arthez-d’Asson resident, a social worker for refugees.
David Grosclaude (an ex-regional councilor who coordinates local campaigns) said that “In the first constituency we support Jean-Yves Lalanne, but not Nupes.” However, Billere’s mayor has the label of the movement that brings together La France insoumise, PSF, and Europe Ecologie Les Verts. David Grosclaude is justified by Jean-Yves Lalanne’s willingness to take positions and have taken action. We could have put a candidate in front.
Patrici Cescau says, “In Nupes there is LFI.” They were against decentralization. They want to keep French as the only language and not allow for other languages.
Endavant supports EH Bai in the fourth constituency. This is part of Region federation
Endavant defends a comprehensive program on the basis of ideas. It goes far beyond regional language defense. Patrici Cescau summarizes: “We bring it alive and decide in the nation, with a power closer the citizens”.
Endavant is one of the many proposals. He wants proportional representation and the creation of a local initiative vote.
What about nuclear power? Patrici Cescau says, “It creates hazardous materials.” Endavant will be focusing more on solar, wind, and biomass power. Methanizers are a common source of methane in Bearn and other areas. Patrick Mauboules says that it is possible to install a methanizer on three farms. It’s not possible to install a methanizer for three farms if it is industrialized like the one in Mourenx.
The Billerois advisor views pensions as a problem of funding. The system’s wealth has been accumulated by the contributions of its assets. Perhaps some employee or employer contributions could be used.
The Endavant campaign will be an opportunity to defend regional languages. “We demand the Molac law to be applied and that article 2 of Constitution is repealed [which, notably, makes French the language in the Republic]. Editor’s note], poses Patrici Cescau. Language is not something that we consider folklore. It is part of us. Language is more than just for home use. It can also be used outdoors. It is a living language. We support diversity.”
