The experts in Latin gangs from the Madrid Information Brigade have resolved in just three days the savage stabbing and beating of a 14-year-old minor on Monday in Puente de Vallecas. And it took 24 hours to identify the four attackers. But they have only been able to arrest three: the missing one is 13 years old and, therefore, not subject to prosecution. Something that makes it impossible, even, to be able to arrest him or transfer him to police facilities.

It is, as this newspaper advanced, about a group of young Trinidadians, who used a ham knife to bait a neighborhood boy who, in principle, has nothing to do with these criminal organizations; However, sources in the case explained to ABC that one of the lines of investigation that was being followed was that they had confused the victim with his older brother, who does “flirt” with the Ñetas.

The event occurred around three in the afternoon on the street of Puerto de Pajares. The kid had just left the Salmantino Cultural Center, on the same street. He went to a food store run by Chinese. As he left, the four minors jumped on him. They attacked him first with blows and then took out the weapon, stabbing him in the buttock and in the neck. Directly to kill him.

They ran away, not without being caught by the many cameras in the area. In addition, they are known to the police in the area. The identification of the suspects was achieved very quickly.

The victim also fled, looking for help, and went into his school. She asked the teachers for help, who notified the emergency services. The Samur stabilized him, but did not remove the gun from his neck to prevent him from bleeding to death. In serious condition, he was transferred to the Gregorio Marañón hospital, where he is progressing favorably.

The three detainees are now only between 14 and 15 years old, so they will face penalties of the lower section for attempted murder contemplated in the Law of Minors. As for the 13-year-old, as has been mentioned, there is no possibility that he will be prosecuted.

This ‘use’ of minors by the leaders of the groups or ‘chapters’ of the gangs, who are the ones who order the attacks, is increasingly frequent; they are aware of the threading of the legislation and where it fails. And they take advantage of it. Moreover, if in 2020 the number of gang members under 18 years old was 20%, in 2021 it was 32%. Now, it exceeds 40%, as a result of the incorporations that they are achieving, above all, in school and recreational environments.

In the last consummated murder, a month ago, in Villaverde, seven minors were arrested as alleged perpetrators of the death of an 18-year-old boy. Of all, the material author is considered the youngest, who had just turned 14 years old.
