Six months after a bloody knife attack in a refugee accommodation on Lake Constance with one dead and several injured, the trial against the alleged perpetrator has begun under increased security precautions. The 32-year-old did not want to comment on the allegations before the Ravensburg district court on Tuesday. He also did not want to give any information about his previous CV, said his defense attorney.

The asylum seeker is accused of, among other things, murder and multiple attempted murders. The Nigerian accused is said to have stabbed men and women with a kitchen knife in Kressbronn in the Lake Constance district in June.

Six people were injured in the knife attack, some of them critically. A 38-year-old Syrian died on the spot. According to the public prosecutor’s office, disputes about living together in the accommodation and about integration are said to have led to the crimes.
