After undergoing shoulder surgery, Jamal Adams, Seahawks safety, missed the last weeks of the season. He also had to make another visit to the operating table after being placed on injured reserve.
Adams revealed to reporters that he had also had surgery on his left hand to fuse his middle fingers. Adams showed that he will not be able fully extend his fingers during the press conference. He said that he did it because he loves the game and to feel like he can play with two arms again for the first time since a while.
Adams stated, via Bob Condotta, Seattle Times. “It’s true, I dislocated my ring finger about 10 times in my first year, when I arrived here. The other time, it was probably around 12. That’s how I have been dealing with it. I didn’t say much. Let’s all talk about it. It’s okay now, and they’re in trouble. . . . For two years, I was able to play with just one arm. That’s no excuse. It was time to tape it up. Let’s go.”
Clint Hurtt, the new Seahawks defensive coordinator, stated earlier this year that Adams is still a major contributor to Seattle. Adams can only prove his rightness by being in full health.
