A man shot dead three women and injured four people – some seriously – in a bar in Rome. The 57-year-old opened fire at a gathering of residents of a residential building on Sunday morning after an argument broke out. He was overpowered by those present and handed over to the Carabinieri.
According to eyewitnesses in the Italian media, the man – himself a resident – had previously made threats. On Sunday morning he then managed to steal a pistol from a shooting range, which he used for the crime. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri wrote on Twitter of a “very serious incident of violence” and expressed his condolences to the relatives.
