The Government of Canada will fund, to the tune of $10.7 million, 23 public space projects across the city.

The funds will come from the Canadian Community Revitalization Fund.

The funded projects will target the revitalization or construction of public spaces, such as community centers, relaxation areas or playgrounds.

“The goal of this fund was really for it to be public spaces, for it to be supported by the communities and for it to allow people to find themselves. To also be close to the main arteries to stimulate economic activity and bring people back there, ”explained Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sports and Head of Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
