Beginning of December. A huge area of snow is moving across southern Germany. Munich sinks knee-deep into the white splendor. Buses, trams and even ICEs no longer run through for days or even stop at the Bavarian capital. There is a lack of heavy clearing equipment and apparently also the will to prepare for such events. Has snow become so rare in winter that it’s a surprise when it does fall?
