How many more times? Over 195 million people have now been vaccinated against Corona in Germany alone. A good 52 million people have been vaccinated three times, the vast majority with one of the mRNA vaccines from Biontech/Pfizer and Moderna. According to the current state of research, the triple encounter with the virus or even just part of the virus as in the vaccination appears to be necessary in order to build up stable protection – basic immunity – against severe courses of infection with Sars-CoV-2. But the virus changes and the effect of the vaccination seems to wear off after a few months. That’s why over 13 million in this country have already received a fourth vaccination, more than three million have received a fifth and a good 640,000 have been vaccinated against Corona at least six times.
Should this continue like this for the rest of our days? Is there such a thing as too much of a good thing? Could additional vaccinations do more harm than good?
