The wait is over for those who devoured the first season of the “Cerebrum” series.

The first five episodes of the sequel will be available from June 16 on ICI TOU.TV’s Extra, then the platform will host the next five on June 30.

The new intrigues signed by Richard Blaimert (“The ups and downs of Sophie Paquin”, “Cover Girl”, “New address”) will star François Papineau – who replaced Claude Legault – and Christine Beaulieu, in their respective roles as psychiatrist Henri Lacombe and investigator Simone Vallier.

Henri Lacombe returns from a trip to Asia where he took a step back after the assassination of his wife. Simone Vallier is investigating the murders of young women with her colleague Danno (Olivier Gervais-Courchesne). Henri and Simone meet again, the latter urgently appealing to the former to get into the killer’s head.

The series, which navigates between drama and detective suspense, also calls on the talent of actors Marguerite Bouchard, Henri Chassé, Marie-Thérèse Fortin, Virginie Fortin, Hugues Frenette, Micheline Lanctôt, Myriam LeBlanc, Anglesh Major, Alexis Martin, Frédéric Millaire -Zouvi, Chanel Mings, Christiane Pasquier, Marie-Chantal Perron, Henri Picard, Frédéric Pierre, Ludivine Reding, Jacynthe René, Éric Robidoux, Gabriel Sabourin, Anthony Therrien, Sonia Vachon and Marianne Verville.

Recall that the filming of “Cerebrum” was delayed for more than two years. There was COVID-19 to explain this delay, as well as the professional burnout suffered by Claude Legault. In an email, Radio-Canada had clarified to the QMI Agency last November, announcing that François Papineau was taking over the role of psychiatrist Henri Lacombe that “Claude continues to take care of him” and cannot engage “in the hard work required to shoot an intense drama series like “Cerebrum”. The decision not to postpone the filming of the series and to replace him to interpret Henri Lacombe was the best solution and was taken by mutual agreement with the latter.
