So that we can practice our daily personal hygiene even on vacation, the most important care products include toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant and shower gel, shampoo and soap. However, most products are so large that they don’t all fit in the toiletry bag. For this reason, most care products are available in a much smaller travel size – or you can fill the contents into handy travel bottles. We have listed below which other hygiene products there are space-saving alternatives for on vacation.

An ordinary toothbrush can be stored in the toiletry bag with or without a protective cover – but this also takes up more space. A folding travel toothbrush, on the other hand, can be reduced in size by half. There are now even travel toothbrushes made of bamboo or an electric battery-powered travel toothbrush for which you don’t need a charging cable.

At just 43 grams, this foldable toiletry bag from Decathlon is a real lightweight. It takes up very little space in your suitcase (or backpack) and still offers enough storage space for your hygiene products: The bag has a total of three pockets, which can also be hung up using a loop. When folded it has the following dimensions: 18 cm × 8 cm × 3 cm.

It’s not just the travel season that’s high season, but also mosquitoes. To relieve burning, itching and swelling, the insect bite healer from Beurer is a practical companion: Through targeted treatment with heat (there are two levels), the typical symptoms are treated quickly and effectively, without any chemicals, and pain is relieved.

Toothbrush case and travel mug in one: With a height of 19.5 centimeters each, this two-piece set offers enough space for several toothbrushes and toothpaste – and can also be used as a drinking and spitting cup. The material is (according to the manufacturer) three millimeters thick, odorless and non-toxic. One cup is gray and one is white.

Shampoo and shower gel, conditioner and body lotion take up far too much space in the toiletry bag. So that you don’t have to go without your personal care products, you can simply fill the contents into handy travel bottles (90 ml each): This set contains six, all made of silicone and 100 percent BPA-free. There are also waterproof stickers for labeling.

A canister for drinking water (holds ten liters) proves to be quite useful, especially at the campsite, but also on the go: it is foldable and therefore fits in any suitcase, weighs only 200 grams, is transparent for the water level indicator and can even hold up to 60 Withstand hot water – for example for washing dirty dishes.

In contrast to classic wet wipes, these ones from Travel Buddy are 100 percent biodegradable. They contain aloe vera and vitamin E, are hypoallergenic and alcohol, paraben and latex free. The 20 x 30 centimeter cloths are equally suitable for removing dirt, sweat, body odors and oil residue.

In other countries, such as Dubai, Cairo or Japan, people prefer to use water to wash their bottoms – rather than toilet paper. This technique is particularly useful on vacation, especially outdoors and at campsites, if you have a portable bidet with you. You simply fill it with water and hold it on the desired spot.

With a length of eight meters, this retractable clothesline is the ideal companion for on the go. If you wash your laundry on vacation, you can easily hang it up and let it air dry. In addition to the leash, the set also includes 20 clips and ten buckles for attaching wet and clean laundry.

Last but not least, this practical set from Deuter should not be missing from your suitcase: so that you can provide first aid, it contains the essentials for treating small injuries – such as bandage packs, wound compresses, plasters, latex gloves, scissors and a signal whistle. The set also includes emergency instructions that explain what to do and when.
