Members of the Civil Guard of the Traffic Subsector of Burgos investigated a 24-year-old driver for driving at 212 kilometers per hour (km/h) on the A-1 highway, in the direction of downward traffic towards Madrid, at the height of the kilometer 206,750, which corresponds to the municipality of Villalmanzo, according to sources from the Government Subdelegation.
Thus, he was identified as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety, for exceeding the speed established for the section of road on which he was circulating by more than 80 kilometers per hour, which, being a highway, is limited to 120 km/h. h, action that was recorded and ‘uploaded’ to social networks.
As a result of the tracking carried out periodically by the Burgos Civil Guard Traffic Subsector Research and Analysis Group (G.I.A.T.), both on the web and on social networks, in search of illicit behaviors that mainly affect road safety, said Unit was aware of the existence of a video recorded by an individual in which the speedometer of a vehicle that reaches 212 km/h is observed.
The sequence first shows the driver and co-pilot inside a moving vehicle. The final shot – taken by the co-pilot with a mobile phone – focuses on the road and then on the speedometer, observing that the speed rises to 212 km/h. Subsequent steps determined that the images were recorded on June 6, around 6:16 p.m., on a section of the A-1 motorway, descending towards Madrid, at kilometer 206,750, which corresponds to the municipal term of Villalmanzo.
The investigations carried out have made it possible to locate the offending vehicle and those involved, for which the driver has been investigated as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against Road Safety. The proceedings instructed were delivered to the Lerma Court of Instruction and the images have been removed from the social network, reports Ical.
