A stranger caused a police operation in a Dresden shopping center with a toy gun. The man was handling a weapon on surveillance camera recordings, the police said on Wednesday morning. After police secured the center Tuesday afternoon, it turned out to be just a toy gun with foam darts. The unknown man was also no longer on site.
On Saturday, an armed man triggered a large-scale police operation in Dresden. The 40-year-old is said to have killed his mother and then tried to force his way into the Radio Dresden station in the city. Then he is said to have holed up in the Altmarkt gallery with the child of an acquaintance and taken an employee in an office as a hostage.
