The cold plan for day care centers and schools in Schleswig-Holstein will not be continued after the autumn holidays. The guideline had previously given parents instructions as to when their child had to stay at home. Now the plan is “no longer compatible with the new Infection Protection Act,” said the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education, Patricia Zimnik, on Wednesday.

As before the corona pandemic, parents are responsible for deciding whether and when their child goes to school. “Anyone who is sick or has a cold should still stay at home and rest.” According to the “Lübecker Nachrichten”, the chairwoman of the teachers’ union GEW, Astrid Henke, would have liked the cold plan to continue. Then schools would be able to send children home if parents let them go to school sick.
