The handball team of SV Union Halle-Neustadt celebrated their second away win in a row. Coach Katrin Welter’s protégés clearly won their guest appearance at HSG Bad Wildungen on Tuesday with 35:27 (19:16). With the third success of the season, the Halle team pushed their opponents from tenth place in the table and made the connection to the secured midfield.

Cecilie Woller (7 goals), Julia Niewiadomska (6/3), Judith Tietjen and Marija Gudelj (5 each) had the greatest share in the guests’ victory. Verena Osswald (6), Annika Ingenpass (5) and Anika Hampel (5/3) scored best for the hosts.

For a long time there was no sign of clear success. Both teams exchanged blows before the break. Only at the end of the first half did SV Union pull away by three goals, but had to accept the 23:23 equalizer ten minutes after the restart. But then the guests improved their defense and also had outstanding support between the posts in Anica Gudelj, who saved 18 balls. She didn’t concede a goal for a quarter of an hour. With an 8:0 run from 24:24 (40th) to 32:24 (55th), the Halle team decided the match in their favor.
