The Hamburg port logistics company HHLA made more sales last year, but earned less. Overall, the group increased its sales by 7.7 percent to almost 1.58 billion euros, said Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) on Thursday. Earnings before interest and taxes, on the other hand, fell by 3.4 percent to 220.4 million euros.
Although container handling fell by 7.9 percent to almost 6.4 million standard containers (TEU), the transport volume remained almost constant at almost 1.7 million TEU despite difficult supply chains. For the current year, HHLA expects sales to be at the level of the previous year and earnings before interest and taxes of EUR 160 to 190 million.
