The “Spring of Painters” event brought together 24 amateur artists from the area at the Gourville Library with their 75 paintings. The results of the competition were announced on Saturday, May 28. Kim Hoang-Pardon was voted the best amateur by the jury. Her canvas featured a mountain theme and was rich in color.
The jury was embarrassed by the awarding of the second prize. The jury couldn’t decide between Francoise Dapoigny, author of “Le Depart”, and Janika Vassen (“La Montagne”) Madeleine Vergnon was awarded 3rd place for her painting “Que La montagne est belle”. Jacqueline Pagnoux was fourth with “Le Petit pont de Gavarnie”.
It is important to note that the jury sought to highlight Paule Benatti’s work for its quality, even though her painting “La petite Fille a la Chandelle” was not relevant.
