Many observers believed that Davis was being affected by the hostile war of words between fighters in the build-up to Romero’s showdown. Davis admitted to the media at one point that his opponent was making him uncomfortable.

Davis stated that he isn’t bothered by Romero’s antics and views them as a way to both inspire himself and sell the fight. Davis said that he will not be distracted by the verbal war.

Davis stated, “This guy is a clown.” Davis said, “I’m not one to be played with. It all starts with him.”

Davis dismissed the suggestion Romero was “awkward” for his helter-skelter style, and instead attributed Romero’s wild approach to inexperienced and lacking of ring intelligence.

“He is not awkward. We are all familiar with awkward. Real fighters are able to recognize awkward fighters. He isn’t an awkward fighter. He is just a dumb fighter. Davis stated, “I’m not trying be funny.”

Romero’s career has been closely followed by many. They know that he is confident and although it’s not unusual for a prize fighter be assertive about his superiority over an opponent’s, Romero is still a persuasive force.

Romero, despite not having the title-fight and big-stage experience of Davis’s fights, has maintained that he is the superior fighter since signing the fight. He will begin receiving the recognition he merits after Saturday night’s upset. Las Vegas native Romero, 26, predicts a win by knockout in the first round.

This feels great. It’s time that he joins me in the ring. Romero said this week that he is built for this moment, and this fight. “Not everyone is made for this. Davis clearly isn’t made for this. Davis can’t even speak a word. Here, I’m the star. I will go into the arena and defeat him. This is my only strategy. You can bet on me in this fight. Together, we’ll all get rich.”

Wise prefers under 6.5 rounds at a cost of -130 according to the latest boxing odds. Wise also called on a method to win prop and a money-line pick. SportsLine is the only place to see these selections.
