This New York Republican, who barely lasted a year in Congress before getting kicked out in 2023, confessed last summer to doing some federal wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. He copped to scamming donors and stealing identities, even from his own family, just to bankroll his winning campaign. As part of a deal, Santos agreed to cough up around $580,000 in fines along with doing time.
