After pure sun, a foretaste of April weather follows at the weekend. On Friday, Hoch “Hazal” makes for a nice day in many places. But not everyone will be able to enjoy the sun, as Felix Dietzsch from the weather forecast center of the German Weather Service (DWD) said on Thursday in Offenbach: dense fields of fog have formed in large parts of northern Germany, which can last quite a long time into the day.

But not only the north is in a gray soup. In the southwest of Germany, too, from the Black Forest to the Chiemgau, there is a dense layer of high fog that keeps the sun out. It is correspondingly fresh in the foggy areas. The temperatures rarely rise above zero degrees. In the sunny regions, on the other hand, the thermometer sometimes even reaches double-digit values of over ten degrees.

At the weekend, a low over north-eastern Europe then directs a rush of cold polar air towards central Europe. This is noticeable through denser cloud fields on Saturday, from which it can dribble a bit here and there. The wind is picking up noticeably towards the North and Baltic Seas. On Sunday we can expect “a kind of April weather with repeated rain showers and snow showers towards the middle” in large parts of the north-west and the middle, according to the meteorologist.
