If you need a change from the usual soft drinks, we have just the thing for you. Limonada Suica is a refreshing lemonade and a popular thirst quencher in Brazil. The drink comes without additives and with only a few ingredients. In the warm season, the fruity lemonade is not only suitable for everyday use, but also as an alcohol-free cocktail for long summer nights.
If you like it sweeter, you can remove the zest from the lime before blending and add some sugar or another sweetener like maple syrup or agave syrup. After preparation, the lemonade should be consumed quickly, otherwise the drink will become bitter. For an even fresher note, we recommend adding a few leaves of mint. And if you want to experiment with different tastes, you can pimp the basic recipe with fruits like mango or strawberries.
By the way, “Limonada Suica” means “Swiss lemonade”. Where the name comes from is not entirely clear. It is assumed, among other things, that the name is connected to the imported Swiss condensed milk.
