With a special gesture, the German footballers encouraged their injured right-back Giulia Gwinn. Before the international match against France in Dresden on Friday evening, the DFB women placed the jersey of the 23-year-old from FC Bayern Munich in their circle. According to national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, Gwinn probably tore his cruciate ligament during training this week. An official diagnosis is still pending.
The national team regular had suffered the same injury in September 2020 and then fought back. Gwinn was replaced by Nicole Anyomi from Eintracht Frankfurt in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
