Sales of organic products abroad fell in 2018 to 2.9 billion crowns. The sale to China was cut in half.
After 12 years with increasing exports of organic products abroad went on sale back in 2018.
Overall exports of 2.9 billion crowns. This is a decrease of almost 50 million dollars from the year before. It shows figures from Statistics Denmark.
the Decline is mainly due to a decrease in sales of feed, but there was also sent fewer dairy products and eggs across state borders.
There was also a decline in exports in the group of food that counts, for example, sauces, dressings and baby food.
The very dry summer of 2018 may have played into the trend in sales of grain and feed, when the harvest was lower than normal last year, writes Statistics Denmark.
the Exports of the ecology goes mainly to Germany. Then follow Sweden, Holland, France, and China.
the volume of Exports has declined in all the five countries except the Netherlands. Sales to China have almost halved over the past year to 170 million crowns, which is the lowest since 2015.
Even though the exports went back in 2018, sales of organic products abroad overall, the 12-fold over the past 15 years.
While exports fell in 2018, increased imports of ecology from abroad by 15 percent to 4.4 billion crowns.
a Little more than one-third of the imports are especially of fruit and vegetables. It is also the category that represents the largest part of the increase in imports.
at the same time, imports of organic wine has almost doubled over the last year.
