Interested parties can find out more about the universe on an exhibition ship in spring and summer in many German cities. The starting point of this year’s “MS Wissenschaft” tour is Berlin-Mitte: the show will open there on May 9 (from 3 p.m.) on Schiffbauerdamm, as announced by the Wissenschaft im Dialog initiative. On board are around 30 exhibits on the theme of the Science Year 2023 “Our Universe”.

According to the organizers, it is about the perspectives of different disciplines, from astrophysics to art history. Among other things, it will be shown how space is explored with modern telescopes, how satellites observe climate changes on earth and how looking into space influenced art and culture.

The ship stops in more than 30 cities in the following months. The course leads from Berlin to Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Bavaria. In Germany, the tour ends in Nuremberg at the end of September. Further stops in Austria follow. The show can usually be seen from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is recommended for visitors aged twelve and over. Admission is free.

The “MS Wissenschaft” is on the road on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Research. Research organizations provide the exhibits. The Science Years are intended to contribute to increased interest in science and promote social dialogue about research.
