During their operation in the Fechenheimer forest in Frankfurt, the police tried to drive environmental activists out of the trees with a crane. Special high-altitude intervention teams were on duty again on Thursday morning. At least four activists remained in the trees. The forest is to be cleared so that clearing work can begin to close a gap on the 66 and 661 motorways. The police had already tried to clear the way on Wednesday with a large-scale operation. Several people had been carried out of the forest and tree houses in a protest camp had been brought down. The environmental activists had reaffirmed their resistance at the start of the eviction.
