A 15-year-old without a driver’s license hit a pedestrian with his car in Erfurt and seriously injured her. The 36-year-old was taken to hospital with a fractured pelvis and a chest injury, the Interior Ministry’s situation center announced on Monday.

According to previous findings, the 15-year-old hit the woman after a right-hand bend on a sloping street in the Brühlervorstadt on Sunday evening. The car then left the road to the left and stopped in a bush.

The driver and his two companions initially fled. The police searched for them using a helicopter, among other things, and finally found the 15-year-old at home. It was initially unclear who owned the car.
