At a ferry terminal in Hamburg, rescue workers were looking for a boy who is said to have fallen into the Elbe there in the morning.
According to the Hamburg fire brigade and the police, the last rescue measures were unsuccessful at 4 p.m. Until recently, police divers were on the spot to find the ten-year-old.
According to the police, passers-by watched the boy fall into the water in the late morning. The eyewitnesses had tried to help the child out of the water – but without success. According to reports from the helpers, the boy then went under and did not reappear.
Immediately after the incident, rescue workers searched for the boy using divers, officers ashore and helicopters. The search will continue on Wednesday.
