the Liberal party’s president, Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, is annoyed with that member of parliament Marcus Knuth leaving the party and switching to The Conservatives.
They have had a close relationship both politically and socially, but Marcus Knuth has on Friday announced that he is leaving the Left because of among other things, the president’s slightly softer line on immigration policy.
– I’m really sorry, I have known Marcus for many years and has been lieutenant to his brother. Marcus started his political career in parliament to work for me.
– I think, frankly, that there are insurmountable political differences in the Left. We carries out the policy, as we all together went to the election on, says Jakob Ellemann-Jensen.
In 2018 got Marcus Knuth stripped of his udlændingeordførerskab, which also may have played into the decision. He even says that the idea first crossed him during the election campaign and also points to the Liberal party’s attitude to tax on agriculture has changed during Ellemann, who is known as more green.
At the Liberal party’s recent national congress tried Ellemann-Jensen to assemble the blue block and bring one political line for immigration policy at the Left. At the same time, however, there is a space for vice-president Inger Støjberg (V), which has a tighter approach.
Knuth had been a close ally with her, but now leaves the party, which Ellemann are annoyed with.
– We’ve had a good balance of things. It is no secret that we come from different political backgrounds, but we have been able to talk about things.
– the Left has not changed policy on immigration matters, tax matters or other areas since the general election, says Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, with reference to the election for a half a year ago.
the Left goes from 43 to 42 seats, while The Conservatives now stands at 13 seats in parliament Sekabet and thus is the sixth largest party along with the Device list.
