A fire broke out in Terrasson-Lavilledieu (Dordogne), Monday, May 30, shortly before 8 p.m. 24 firefighters from the rescue centers of Terrasson, Lardin-Saint-Lazare and Brive (Correze), aboard six vehicles, intervened at a place called Le Pouget.
The flames that consumed a 600m2 barn containing 250 tonnes of hay had to be extinguished by firefighters. They made sure that the fire did not spread to another 1,200m2 building.
There have been no injuries. The cows that were trapped in an adjacent agricultural structure were evacuated and preserved. The site was visited by Jean Bousquet (the mayor) and the municipal councilors.
They took turns throughout the night and were still there on Tuesday morning, May 31st.
