The highest court in the country did not agree to hear the case of Mr. Mailloux, who wanted to appeal a decision rendered in February 2021 by the Superior Court in Trois-Rivières.
The latter then dismissed the $10 million lawsuit, filed in June of that same year, for damage to its reputation and loss of income.
Judge Robert Dufresne sided with the College of Physicians “due to [the] abusive nature” of the lawsuit, a legal claim that is deemed unfounded.
Remember that Doc Mailloux was struck off seven times by the College of Physicians during his 40 years of practice and had received four disciplinary complaints since 1999.
