A presumably drunk pedelec rider fell in the district of Osnabrück and sustained life-threatening injuries. On Thursday evening, the 69-year-old left the road on the shoulder with his pedelec near Hagen in the Teutoburg Forest after a curve, as the police announced on Friday. As the man drove back onto the roadway, he fell.
Two women found the unconscious 69-year-old on the street and called 911. According to the police, there were clear indications of the influence of alcohol, so a blood sample was taken from the man in the hospital. The officials initiated an investigation into suspected drunk driving.
