In a sewage treatment plant in the Fulda district, a man fell into a four meter deep container. A three-person work team was supposed to clean containers in the plant in Hünfeld, and the man had an accident on Wednesday afternoon, the police said in the evening. The other men tried to save their colleague, but only the fire brigade succeeded.
The man was reportedly unharmed. However, all three men were taken to hospitals “as a precaution” because they complained of nausea due to the “unpleasant smell in the container”. According to a police spokesman, the container was empty before the cleaning work.
