An explosion at a petrol station in County Donegal, Ireland, has killed three people. According to media reports, other people were treated for injuries.

The property damage also seems to be significant: photos show cars badly damaged by debris, and the front of a building behind the destroyed gas station has been torn away.

The cause of the explosion at the gas station in the small village of Creeslough was initially unclear. Rescue workers were on site on a large scale. Donegal local politician John O’Donnell told Sky News: “It’s very, very intense here in a small rural village. Everyone here is completely stunned – we’re all in shock.”
