Paraguayan authorities Monday announced that they would intensify their search for two young German teenagers who arrived in the country in November without consent from their mother and father. Their whereabouts are not known.
“From now on we will intensify our search for the girls,” Commissioner Mario Vallejos (head of anti-kidnapping) said at a press conference where Anne Maja Reiniger Egler, mother to Clara Magdalena Egler was present.
Clara, 10 years old, entered Paraguay along with her father Andreas Rainer Egler (46), and his wife Anna Maria Egler (35), nee Scharpf. They were travelling with Lara Valentina Blank (11-year-old daughter of Anna Maria Egler, and Filip Blank).
The Paraguayan public procuror stated that Andreas Rainer (and Anna Maria Egler) did not have permission for their daughters to travel to Germany. According to Paraguayan authorities, they entered Paraguay in November 2021. The girls were last seen January 19, 2022.
Get in touch. You can’t let girls run away with their lives.
“Andreas! I beg you to stop this nightmare. This is not normal. Get in touch. Anne Maja Reiniger Egler, who was distraught, said that girls can’t run off their entire lives. She offered to drop the charges if her daughter could see her again.
According to Stephan Schultheiss, the plaintiff’s lawyer, the couple probably intended to live in Paraguay’s anti-vaccine German settler community.
“This is a case for violation of parental authority and abduction. He said that both were wanted by German courts.
Authorities denounced “the secrecy of the German communities within the areas where the girls were found”
