Deshaun Watson, Browns quarterback, last spoke with reporters on his first day at the building. Watson held a second press conference this week during the mandatory minicamp.

He answered questions for approximately 10 minutes. He was also asked whether he is open to settling any of the 24 cases against him.

Watson stated that he just wanted to clear his name and explained that he wants the facts to be revealed in court. He intends to fight these cases for the time being. They all. All 24 have been filed. Two more are expected. All other possible filings.

It will take some time. All cases will not be tried until March 1, 2023. Without settlements, 26 trials could take a long time. It is likely that the cases will continue into 2024. The trials could continue until 2025, depending on how many cases are filed.

Watson was also asked about the contention, which was not a report but a contention from one of the lawsuits in which he offered $100,000 each to each plaintiff last year.

Watson stated that there was a process going on back in November with another organization, but did not address whether any settlement offers were made to settle the cases so that Watson could be traded to Miami. Rusty Hardin his lawyer has already stated publicly that the Dolphins wanted to resolve the cases before any trade could take place.

Watson was asked if he still stands by March’s statement that he had “no regrets” about what happened.

Watson stated that Watson thought that Watson’s question “kind of triggered many people.” He explained that he was stating that he had never assaulted or disrespected anyone and that he didn’t harass them. Watson admitted that he regrets the negative impact the different cases had had on “many”.

What about the New York Times report that Watson was massaged by at least 66 women over a 17-month span? Is this accurate?

Watson stated, “I don’t think so,” before referring to his lawyers.

The waiting game continues. What will the NFL do about it? What will the NFL do? It remains to be seen.
