On its Facebook page, the Liberal Party of Quebec invites its members “to join our leader, Dominique Anglade, as well as our Liberal team at the Demonstration against Bill 96 which will take place in Montreal on Saturday, May 14. “.

“For the occasion, we invite you to wear as many red clothes as possible, in order to show the entire community that we are there for them and attentive to their needs,” adds the invitation.

The demonstration aims to denounce the reform of the Charter of the French language by the Legault government. The English-speaking community and the PLQ denounce in particular the freezing of the number of places that will be imposed in English-language Cégeps.

The director of communications for Ms. Anglade says that thirty to fifty Liberal MPs and candidates are expected. Christine St-Pierre, David Birnbaum, Monsef Derraji, Franz Benjamin and Isabelle Melançon should notably be among them.

Candidate Michelle Stelakwe, who was talked about this week after denouncing “dividing” nationalist issues should also be present.

The event is organized by the Quebec Community Groups Network, in collaboration with the Association of English Parents Committees of Quebec, the Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations, the Association of English School Boards of Quebec.
