So, like, this crazy thing happened in Clearwater, Florida, on Sunday evening. A boat smashed into the Clearwater Ferry, and then just peaced out, leaving one person dead and a bunch of others injured. Apparently, all the injured folks were on the ferry when the boat rammed into it. There were 45 peeps on the ferry, including the crew, when the accident went down. The fire department was like, “Whoa, this is a mass casualty incident because so many people got hurt.” They even had to call in helicopters to airlift the seriously injured ones to the hospital.

The crash happened near the Memorial Causeway Bridge, and the Coast Guard got word of it around 8:40 p.m. The ferry ended up stuck on a sandbar after the collision, but emergency crews were able to get everyone off safely. One passenger said they were just chilling on the ferry when all of a sudden, they heard the first mate yelling. They turned around and saw this huge yacht crashing into their boat. Can you imagine the nerve of that boat just hitting and running?

So get this, there were six people on the boat that hit the ferry, and they just bounced after the crash. But don’t worry, another agency found them later on. The cops were able to ID the fleeing boat, but they’re still keeping tight-lipped about the second boat involved in the whole mess. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is gonna be in charge of figuring out what went down in this crazy incident.

All in all, it was a wild night in Clearwater, with a tragic outcome for one person and a lot of chaos for everyone else involved. Let’s hope they get to the bottom of what happened and make sure it doesn’t go down again.
