Field Yates from ESPN reports that the NFL suspended Patriots defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale for the first two games in the 2022 regular season. The reason is not clear.

After playing in seven regular season games and New England’s playoff loss against the Bills last year, Ekuale signed a futures agreement with the Patriots.

Last season, he had five tackles and two sacks. He also made two quarterback hits.

Ekuale signed with the Browns in 2018 as an undrafted agent from Washington State. Ekuale spent most of his rookie season with Cleveland’s practice team before he was promoted to the 53-player roster in 2019.

Ekuale was a Jaguars player in 2020. Ekuale signed with Patriots’ practice squad after Jacksonville removed him from the preseason.

In 23 games, he has recorded 22 tackles, three passes and three touchdowns in five starts.
