Dak Prescott spent 2021 working to recover from major ankle surgery that ended his 2020 season prematurely. After sustaining a shoulder injury in training camp, Prescott sustained a calf injury which kept him out of the game.

He said that he has spent the offseason working instead of rehabbing and that he is “so far further along” than he was last year.

Prescott stated Tuesday, “My confidence is unshakeable.”

Prescott is “definitely” the slimmest man he’s ever been, but his weight isn’t significantly different. He is listed as 238 by the Cowboys.

“People tell (I’m thin). Prescott replied, “Thank you.” It’s the result of working on all aspects and not just my leg. It doesn’t matter if it is rotation, diet, or anything else, I just need to be more focused.

“I believe I have just lost some baby fat.”

Mike McCarthy, Cowboys coach, expects Prescott to be more mobile than last season. Prescott was returning from an ankle injury and injuring his leg in Week 6 against the Patriots.

McCarthy stated, “To have no limits was outstanding and I think you see it in his movement this year.” You look at his body. He is clearly different from the person he was last summer. He is leaner, flexible, and better able to focus on the mechanics.

“Quarterback drills were last year. There was a phase where we used different types of drills. There was no progression this year. Since Day 1, he’s been a full-fledged go.
