An unknown perpetrator shot a man on a street in Hamburg. The victim died shortly after the crime late Friday evening in the Borgfelde district, the police said. Witnesses had alerted the police because they had heard shots and a man was lying on the ground. The victim was reportedly hit by two bullets in the chest and leg.
Rescue workers took him to a hospital, where he died. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the victim is a man born in 2003. The police, on the other hand, stated on Saturday evening that he was 18 years old. The police said that the background to the crime near the Berlin Gate was that the victim had gotten into an argument with the perpetrator for initially unknown reasons. He then fired the shots and fled on a bicycle. The homicide squad took over the investigation.
The suspect is said to be about 1.85 to 1.95 meters tall and have longer dark hair. He was reportedly wearing light-colored jeans and a dark top.
The “Hamburger Morgenpost” reported that the investigators used a 3D scanner to get an exact picture of the crime scene. A baseball cap and a smartphone can be seen on the ground in one photo. According to the reports, the police also used service dogs in the search.
