As Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced on Saturday evening, there was ultimately no danger at either of the two evacuated tourist attractions. No explosive device was discovered and no attack took place.
As the radio station “France Info” learned from the Louvre, the inspection of the halls of the art museum ended early in the evening. Nothing unusual was found. The popular tourist destination should reopen at normal times on Sunday. It was not yet known on Saturday evening when the Palace of Versailles would open its doors again.
On Saturday afternoon, the famous museum and palace of Versailles and its park were evacuated. According to a Louvre spokeswoman, the museum had received a message suggesting that there was danger for the museum and its visitors. According to information from the radio station “Europe 1”, the threat against the castle was received anonymously on a police website. The central Paris train station Gare de Lyon was also evacuated on Saturday afternoon because of a suspicious package.
