A thief in Hamm was caught by the police twice within a few hours in the evening.

First, it was found during a check that the 42-year-old’s bike was stolen, the police said. Because the man was drunk, he had to be taken to the police station for a blood test. Shortly after his release, the man then stole an unlocked car that was parked in front of a nearby pizzeria. A quickly launched manhunt led the police to the stolen car and the still drunk driver. After a short chase, he was temporarily arrested and offered no resistance. Another blood draw followed at the police station. A magistrate will now decide how to proceed.
